Music Library Doctor is made by Koray Önür, a DJ and software engineer, who built it to fix his own DJ library.
Like every working DJ's library, Koray's had quietly decayed over the years: the same track bought twice in different formats, "320 kbps" files that turned out to be upscaled, playlist entries pointing at folders that had moved drives long ago. None of it shows until the worst moment, a track greying out mid-set or a thin sound on a big system that was fine in headphones.
The tools he found each solved one slice. One showed a single file's spectrum at a time; others gave a verdict but could not dedupe a library or repair a broken path. Nothing did the detection and the repair in one place, across the DJ apps people actually use. So he built that.
"A clean library isn't glamorous. It's just the reason the night doesn't fall apart. I wanted a tool that treats your files like they're yours: everything runs on your own machine, nothing gets uploaded, and it shows you the evidence for every call it makes instead of asking you to trust a score."
