Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 May 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Music Library Doctor ("MLD", "the application", "we", "us"). By installing or using the application you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the application.

1. What MLD is

Music Library Doctor is a desktop application for DJs that scans your existing local music library, reports on audio quality and library health (missing tracks, duplicates, scatter across folders and drives), and helps you repair playlist references across supported DJ software (VirtualDJ, Serato, Rekordbox). MLD runs entirely on your own computer; we do not upload, host, or redistribute your audio files.

2. License and use

MLD is licensed, not sold, to you. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may install and run the application on computers that you own or control. A "Pro" license is required for certain premium features, including but not limited to the Quality Upgrade flow described in Section 4. Pro licenses are tied to the email address used at purchase and to a limited number of devices.

3. Your library, your responsibility

MLD operates on the music files already present in your library. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to possess, play, and process those files. We do not verify or police the contents of your library, and we do not provide audio content to you.

4. The Quality Upgrade feature

The Pro tier includes a "Quality Upgrade" workflow that helps you replace low-quality or broken tracks in your library with higher-quality versions obtained via standard open-source tooling that the application coordinates on your local machine. By using this feature you acknowledge and agree that:

We reserve the right to disable the Quality Upgrade feature, for you or generally, at any time and without notice, including in response to legal claims, platform policy changes, or operational considerations.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Third-party tooling and platforms

MLD may invoke standard open-source command-line tools (for example, yt-dlp and ffmpeg) that you install on your own machine. These tools are governed by their own licenses, and their interaction with third-party platforms is governed by those platforms' terms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party music or video platform. References to platform names in the application are purely functional descriptors.

7. No warranty

The application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. You bear all risk associated with using MLD on your own library.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will MLD or its developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, music files, profits, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the application, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for your Pro license in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. DMCA / copyright complaints

If you believe that material accessible through use of the application infringes a copyright you own or control, please send a written notice including the information required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) (or the equivalent provisions in your jurisdiction) to dmca@musiclibrarydoctor.com. We respond to good-faith notices and may, where applicable, disable functionality, suspend accounts, or take other appropriate action.

10. Termination

These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the application. We may terminate or suspend your Pro license, and your right to use the application, if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the application and uninstall it. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where applicable, communicated within the application. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that may apply in your jurisdiction. For questions about these Terms please contact support@musiclibrarydoctor.com.
